Wear Purple and support World Epilepsy Day

How to Wear Purple? Its a question I often get asked, and its a tricky question! Purple has many shades and tones, and a lot about how to wear purple depends on whether the base tone of the colour is warm or cool, blue or red. Red purples go well with other warm tone colours like pinks, (think of a beautiful pink and purple bouquet) and cool, blue tone purples go well with blues and even greens, (Think of jewel jade and royal purple,  or Wimbledon colours!) Have a look at these purples and see what you think…. Perhaps a complete purple garment is not for you, but a purple accent colour can add interest and definition to a garment and make it unique.

The Wear Purple today is to recognise and support World Epilepsy day.  Did you know that 87 people in the UK are diagnosed with Epilepsy every day? Seizures or “fits” are caused by electrical disturbances in the brain, and are often seen as a sudden fall to the floor with jerking movements and foaming at the mouth. However, there are many types of seizure, have a read here if you are interested… Would you know what to do if someone had a fit? Here’s some advice…..It can happen in a moment and change lives forever, so why don’t you wear Purple today and find out more about this condition or  support this cause with a donation. Thank you.

Wear Purple day can’t go without the famous poem, “when I’m Old I shall Wear Purple” , its actually called “Warning” and is funny and poignant at the same time. Have a listen and a smile here….

In other news, I had a great day at Cornwoolly last week, despite the snow, and it was lovely to meet old friends and make new ones. Did you seen the post on our FB page? A lovely customer has posted what she made with her skein of indigo dyed yarn! I love to see what you make with our yarns, so do feel free to post on our Facebook page.

Next we will be at Toby’s Gardenfest at Powderham in Devon. This is always a really lovely event, with lots to see and do for all the family. Its the end of April, so why not make a weekend of it, and come and say hello!

Whatever you are doing today and this week, I hope the sun is shining for you.

Bye for now,

Caroline
