Show and Teal, that’s been the motto for Gorgeous Yarns these past 2 weeks. We had a lovely time meeting new customers at Toby’s Gardenfest at Powderham castle last Friday and Saturday, the weather was sunny and warm, and the location in the grounds of the castle was stunning. There were lots of stands featuring a varied and exciting array of natural and artisan products, from teak life size horses for the garden, to vintage watering cans, to hand made pies and cheeses, to stained glass panels and woolen tweed and leather bags. A few products just had to travel home with me back to Cornwall, the cheese is delicious and the pies have been devoured! My new tweed shopper bag is already in use and being admired.
Lots of customers enjoyed seeing the colours of the Nurturing Fibres and Coquette cotton and cotton/bamboo ranges that we have, and were inspired to try them for summer projects, and the Purely Gorgeous range of yarns was very popular, the merino wool makes these yarns very special, touchable, smooth and lustrous. If you haven’t tried any of the Purely Gorgeous range, how about trying a skein or 2 for a project, you will be smitten!

Time for Teal launch day is nearly here…. on Saturday 7th may, at Helston Methodist Church hall, Gorgeous Yarns are proud to be part of the Time for Teal charity launch in aid of Target Ovarian Cancer. We will be selling 3 kinds of kit to make wrist warmers, socks or a shawl, with patterns for a shawlette, a hat/tea cosy and a bandana for your dog. Teal yarn in DK and 4ply is also for sale and very special limited edition collection of 5 hand made stitch markers in a cute bag. All the money raised goes straight to the charity. This project has been set up and co-ordinated by Lyn Roberts, you can read her story here. I was luck enough to meet Lyn last year at ProperWoolly and we have been friends ever since. She is an amazing, inspiring, talented woman and I am very pleased to be able to support her with this project. Yarn, kits and patterns will be available via our Gorgeous Yarns webshop from next monday, 9/05/16 under the heading Brands/Time for Teal. Please help us help Lyn make this a huge success.
Bye for now,
Caroline
