Purely Gorgeous Colours

Purely Gorgeous Colours, Come and See

Our Purely Gorgeous Colours are here! Available from the website from tomorrow, in a range of 10 gorgeous semi-solid colours. From dark Damson Wine purple, through Briar Rose to Azure and Woodsmoke Grey, all the colours have been carefully chosen to blend with each other and other yarns in our collection so you can make something special for someone special. These yarns are skillfully hand dyed by Sue Stewart of Pipps&Co for Gorgeous Yarns, and are Corriedale wool at Aran weight. (175m/100g skeins.) Available for only £17/skein. The colours are inspired by nature and the beautiful Cornish countryside around us. Ideal for small projects like cosy cowls and scarves, but also perfect for jumpers and garments, with colours to suit everyone. This yarn holds stitch patterns well so is ideal for Aran style cables and panels on garments. It also has a soft drape that makes it lovely for hand knit garments next to the skin, to fit and be cosy. It also crochets well for accessories, garments and it would make the most amazing blankets.

I have had great fun today getting the yarns ready to photograph, playing with the colours. The tonal colours obviously go beautifully, but the opposites go well together too. Peony and Woodsmoke, Fern leaves and Damson wine, Periwinkle and Crush-me-Sloe.

What do you think? As usual, each colour will have a description, and if an exact colour is crucial for your project, please let me know and I will send you a snip of yarn to check colour.

I will be designing a pattern to show off the beauty of this yarn in the next few months. What will you make with it? I think I might design a long waistcoat with panels of colours. At the moment the Lilac Amethyst is my favourite, with Damson Wine and Peony but I’m fickle with colours! Tomorrow it might be the Periwinkle and Azure-like-it.

Just to make you smile; we have a new addition to the Gorgeous Yarns family. This is Louis, who joined us today. He’s a happy, talkative soul, so he will fit in well!
