Porthleven Cardigan (Downloadable pattern)

The Porthleven Cardigan is a drop shoulder Kimono style cardigan. It is a one size garment that has been designed to fit from approx. (UK) size 16 – 24

It is knitted in three pieces, with the shoulders joined together using a three needle bind off.

There is a small amount of sewing for the side seams and then the stitches are picked up for the sleeves around the armhole edge and knitted in the round, thus elevating any seams showing should you turn back the cuffs.

The whole stitch panel is all worked on a 8 row pattern repeat – this makes it easy to keep track and to make the garment longer or shorter if you prefer.

Garter stitch edge stitches are used for a design feature

The sleeves are designed to be three quarter length, either unfolded or elbow length with the Hurdle Rib Cuff turned back on itself, a mock Garter Stitch seam has been used for decoration.

There is an optional belt that you can make should you so wish.

This pattern is designed by Caroline Bawn and Nicky Sutton

This garment takes 700g Purely Gorgeous British Corriedale DK and uses 5.00mm circular needles.
