Polwarth DK

Polwarth DK is a beautiful yarn with a smooth lustre and great stitch definition. It is ideal for all your favourite DK patterns.

Polwarth are a cross breed sheep, one quarter Lincoln long wool and three quarters Merino, originally bred in Australia. They have a fine, soft fleece which makes for lovely knitting and crochet yarn, suitable for all types of projects. This yarn also takes dye well and is one of my favourites to naturally dye with.

The yarn is a creamy white, 225m per 100g skein, and knits to a standard DK tension of 22st over 10cm on 4.00mm needles. Polwarth DK is ideal for projects that have stitch patterning because the yarn shows off the stitches well. For example, cables and moss/seed stitch, but also ribs and lace type stitches.
