The Penrose Poncho is simple to make, a lovely lace crochet panel folds and joins to make an angled poncho shape, with decorative shell edges. It is made with Purely Gorgeous Merino DK which has exceptional drape and is soft and cosy but light and this pattern makes the most of those qualities with an elegant poncho to wear casually or for smarter occasions.
It uses basic crochet stitches of dc and tr and has a foundation tr cast on instead of a chain cast on which gives a nice edge to join to make the garment. This is well explained by the designer on the pattern.
It is designed by friend of Gorgeous Yarns, Annabel Lewis after a lovely walk at Penrose earlier this year.
