Como Shrug is knitted in DK, we used Eden Cottage Oakworth in colour Pennine Mist, but it would work equally well with Kettle Yarns Wimbledon. It has panels of cable, moss and diagonal stitches to represent the rocky shores and waves of Lake Como, and the main body of the garment is knitted in linen stitch. The collar/front is picked up and knitted on afterwards in a garter rib. The Como Shrug is knitted in 1 main piece, starting at the bottom of the back, working up to the shoulders, then divided and worked over the shoulders in 2 pieces down the fronts. The side seams can be left open for a cape effect, or sewn together for the shrug.
This Garment has a gentle drape fit to fit most women up to about size 18. It is comfortable, soft and elegant to wear, and can be dressed up with smart trousers or skirt, or worn with jeans for a relaxed look. It is fixed with a pin or brooch, but instructions include the option for a button hole in the collar/front rib band.
