Planning Ahead Today

Are you good at planning ahead? I try to be, but somehow, when I’m busy, all those plans to be organised go out of the window. This year I have been using a planner a bit more, and my new planner came a couple of weeks ago and I’ve just started putting events in it for next year! Several good things will be happening for me, and Gorgeous Yarns next year, but I’ll tell you more about that in the coming months. I’m hoping to be more organised with blogs and newsletters, so you can rely on me to blog on the same day each week, rather than the less than planned way I have been recently! (Sorry about that.) Planning ahead will also mean I can give you more notice of events, special edition yarns, sales events etc.

Now, talking of planning ahead, dare I mention the Christmas word?! I know, its only October, but if you are a maker, like me, you do need to plan ahead a bit to get things made in good time and save yourself the frantic last minute rush….I have been known to be finishing a project on the evening of Christmas Eve, ready to take with us when we visited friends on Christmas day, that was a bit too close for comfort! So, in an effort to share my planning enthusiasm, I have a few gift ideas of things to buy, and a few links for things to make.

Gorgeous Yarns have a variety of kits and Petit4 boxes which make a lovely gift for a creative friend, and I will be adding the Petit4 Grand kit, and the 6SocksBox which is a limited edition kit which includes 300g of yarn to make 6 or more socks, a basic sock pattern and stitch markers. I’ll let you know via our FaceBook page when these are ready, but it should hopefully be tomorrow afternoon.

We also have a variety of handmade project bags, made with beautiful fabrics, fully lined and all unique. Why not add to the bag of your choice a few knitting or crochet extras, needles, hooks, yarn etc to make a gorgeous gift with hours of pleasure guaranteed. Now that’s what I call planning ahead! Please contact me if you would like advice or information on any of our products, I will be happy to help. Drop a hint to your other half, I’m always happy to talk to them too!

Now, for projects to make….If you are a fast knitter, you have probably got just enough time to knit a Guernsey jumper. (Have a look at our newsletter, to be written tomorrow….planing ahead!) I love the Frangipani Guernsey 5ply yarn we stock, it has the Platinum Wool mark which guarantees full traceability of the 100% British yarn.

I also like the range of patterns here and here for inspiration of lovely things to make as gifts for Christmas. What do you feel like making? A cosy crochet cowl for a special friend; a pair of socks for a partner, brother, Dad; a soft, warm knee blanket for Grandma; a snazzy coat for your pooch or some boot toppers for a fashion-conscious niece?  I have lots of ideas planned, just need to get started and avoid another Christmas Eve rush!

I had a great time at 3BagsFull Liskeard on friday, here are a couple of photos….

So, here’s to planning ahead!

Bye for now,

Caroline
