More socks this week in the blog!
I met with my friend Annabel last weekend and we had a lovely walk and lunch out in Porthleven . We talked about all sorts, with plenty of woolly chat, latest ideas and projects. Annabel is a great crocheter, but has recently found the joy of sock knitting, and has made 5 pairs very quickly non-stop. She is going to take part in the GB Socks away KAL (which started on 23/09/2016, so if you are quick you may still be able to join and KAL.) and talking with her, and the lovely comments I have had since last time’s blog I have been inspired to create a new kit for all you sock lovers! Its called the SixSocksBox, and as you can guess, you will have enough yarn to knit six socks,(3 pairs) with perhaps some left over if the socks you knit are small or short. The kit will have a basic sock pattern (one I use over and over again), and 3 x 100g of colour co-ordinated wool and alpaca sock yarn. It will come in a cute box, and have stitch markers included. So whether you knit socks yourself, would like to inspire someone else with a gift of sock loveliness, or would like to have a try, this is the kit for you! The photo shows some of the colour combinations, and the kit will have 2 solid colours and 1 mixed or variegated colour, so you can create unique mix and match socks to your heart’s content! Thanks Annabel for the inspiration! These kits will be available next Monday, 03/10/16 and there will initially only be 20, so get yours quickly before they sell out!
The great sock debate continues with regard to toe up, top down, heel flaps or afterthought heels, DPNs or magic loop technique. So, in order to be fair and unbiased (I’m a top down DPN girl!) here are some useful links for you to explore to see what the fuss is about and perhaps try a new technique.

And some gorgeous patterns to inspire you….
Coming up next Friday, Gorgeous Yarns will be at 3bagsfull in Liskeard, and the following weekend at the Kelly House Woolly Weekend . In November Gorgeous Yarns will be sharing a stand with lovely Steph Thornton of Perran Yarns at Stitch Fest South West on 5&6 November. Hope to see you at one of these fun events!
Bye for now,
PS I’m still trying to finish the second Maudie sock, and second sock syndrome is a whole new blog…!
