Make a Date with Gorgeous Yarns!

Its nearly that time of the year when Gorgeous Yarns gets on the road and we go to shows in Devon and Cornwall. We meet old customers and new and have a great time!

Here are the details of the events we will be at this year, and links to the websites…Make a Date with Gorgeous Yarns!

Stitch St Ives, Saturday and Sunday 8 and 9/04/17  The web link is hereIts a fun, small show with local, Cornish made products to stitch, knit, crochet, felt, sew and more! St Ives is a lovely little place, very quaint, and great for a weekend break before the high summer season when it gets PACKED! The Island Centre is right near the Island car park so you don’t have to walk far when you have purchased all your goodies!

Toby’s Gardenfest at Powderham castle, Devon Friday and Saturday 28 and 29/04/17. The web link is here. This is a large show with all sorts of outdoors and creative stands, ranging from plants and herbs to garden furniture with artisans and Gorgeous Yarns in between. This show has lots of fine food stalls featuring local produce so us tummy motivated folk are very happy! Parking is in the fields, but there is a land train for those less able to walk far.

Toby’s Gardenfest also has a new location later in the year at Forde Abbey, near Chard in Somerset on Saturday and Sunday 16 and 17/09/17. This is a new event, so I don’t have much information to share with you about it at the moment, but I can let you into a little secret….I am hoping to be presenting a workshop at this show…..more details later in the year as plans get firmed up!

Hot on the heels of Forde Abbey is 3BagsFull in Liskeard on Friday 6/10/17. This has become a regular event and is a crazy, wonderful couple of hours with lots of stands and creative products. Gorgeous Yarns attends this with Steph Thornton of Perran Yarns, and we try to offer and range of complimenting yarns between us with something for every knitter and crocheter. Come along if you can, its well organised organised by Tina and Rachel and their team of helpers. Parking is close by, there are stairs in the building but it has a stairlift.

For something a bit different, why not come along to Kelly House Woolly Weekend. This event is situated in Kelly House, near Lifton in Devon; a very old family home, and all the stalls are in the downstairs rooms of the house itself. This gives the show a very friendly feel, and combined with the excellent home cooking by Sophia and her team in the Tea rooms you’ll want to come again! Why not bring a list and buy your Christmas presents early as there really is a great selection of stalls. It is wheelchair accessible with patience, given the age of the house.

To end the year, there is Stitch St Ives again, usually in early December for those last minute gift purchases. More details to come later in the year.

Make a Date in your diary,  coming up this month is Mother’s day. Why not treat yourself, your mum, or a special friend to a little something to say “thanks, you are special” ? Gorgeous Yarns have a selection of kits and Petit4 and Petit4 Grand boxes and we offer a gift wrapping service too for a small charge. (Gift wrapping is with beautiful quality paper, ribbons and a hand made gift tag, and includes a small extra free gift.) We can also advise if you want to make up a gift from our collection of hand dyed yarns and accessories. Please contact me if I can help.
