Hello 2019! Here at Gorgeous Yarns we have lots of plans for this year, I hope you have had chance to read the newsletter for more details. Our plans include a regular once a month videoblog, (starting in March) restyled patterns and new yarns and accessories like project bags. We are also going to have new postage bags which are more sustainable than the single use plastic ones we have been using.
I am part way through a test of a some eco-paper mailing bags with my friend Sara who is the other end of the postage route. I have wanted to improve the sustainability of our packaging, but needed quality products that would be good enough so send your Gorgeous yarns to you in. So, the products have to be top quality, with eco-credentials, and reuse/recycle/bio-degradable. I am nearly there, and will share more with you when the test finishes. So far the mailing bags have been travelling back and forth to Exeter for 2 months, and are still as good as new! (Including being left out in the rain for 3 days!)
We still have our collection of Gorgeous Yarns, Purely Gorgeous and have added a new Corriedale DK which is perfect for sweaters and cardigans. I have a design that’s “brewing” at the moment and I’m hoping to get it written soon. Don’t worry though, this yarn knits and crochets to standard tension, so if you have a favourite DK pattern, why not cast on and give this beautiful yarn a try?
I have changed the tabs on our homepage, so blogs will now be in “News” and we have a tab for events, so you can keep up with where we will be at and hopefully we will see you at a show or event this year.
I have also changed the labels at the side of our Facebook page and I will be using these more this year with lots more information and chat.
All that remains is to wish you a very Happy and Healthy New Year, to thank you for your support of Gorgeous Yarns and look forward to all the yarn-y fun in 2019!
Bye for now! Caroline x
