Happy New Year!
Gorgeous Yarns has lots planned for this new year: new shows to go to, new patterns and designs hot off the needles, a new pattern appearing in a magazine, new plant dye colours and hopefully lots of new friends and customers along the way!
The first new pattern this year is this simple cowl/shawl called “In-between”. Its currently exclusively available to newsletter subscribers only, so if you’re not yet with us, why not sign up here….

I have knitted it in “Wicker man” DK from Kettle Yarn Co “Wimbledon” and it features an asymmetric shape, with cables and lacy panels in-between. Its ideal under a coat or jacket to keep you cosy, or over a sweater, more like a scarf. I finished the sample last week and I’ve been wearing it ever since!
Have you seen our new Gorgeous yarns HQ? After lots of mess, dust and building work, we now have a dedicated office and store room, and I’m delighted. It makes answering your questions and queries easier because the stock is right here, and I have a space to wrap all your parcels nicely before posting them.
I have new plans for this blog too…. I plan to have a general chat blog once a month, and a blog focused on yarns and plant dyeing once a month. That way you can keep up to date with all that’s happening, and can anticipate each blog post. Please let me know if there are topics you are interested in that you would like to chat about, or GY news you want to know more about. I welcome comments on blog posts, they keep me on my toes!
Did you know we have a Facebook Group too? If you are on FB, search for “We love Gorgeous Yarns” . Its a group for anyone who loves knitting and crocheting with natural yarns and fibres, and wants to share what they have been making, yarns they love and on a Friday…. yarns they have dyed, spun etc that are for sale, or links to favourite yarn shops. Its a fun way to be involved with the yarn community and make new friends.
Over the coming blogs I will be telling you about events and shows we will be at so you can come along and say hello!
A little taster….. Kirsty’s Hand made fair….. eeeek!
Bye for now,
Caroline
