Happy New Year!
I haven’t written for a while so I’m really pleased to be back with you to tell you about a new product we re launching this year, month by month. Its called the DIY Daylight Dye kit, and that’s just what it is. You can use this kit to dye your own skein of Gorgeous Yarn using the contents and a large jar and the power of daylight! No special equipment and all natural.
Each month there will be a limited number of these DIY Daylight Dye kits available on our website, and each month there will be a new colour dye stuff to explore. Some months the kit will have a different yarn or perhaps a sock blank, but always a pattern for the yarn and free surprise gifts.
This month’s kit is inspired by this painting by the Victorian artist Joseph Farquharson, called “Herding Sheep in a Winter landscape”. I love it’s tranquillity and the beauty of the way he has painted the sunset.
The January DIY Daylight Dye Kit has 4 natural dye colours, (like a sunrise or sunset,) 100g skein of 4ply Alpaca/Merino Naturally Gorgeous Yarn, mineral mordant, full instructions etc and pattern with a surprise free gift. All you need is a 1.5l jar, ( a Kilner style jar is ideal ), half and hour to set up the dye jar and you’re all done!
Her’s what the kit contains:
If you aren’t sure, have a look at our YouTube channel to see how the kit is set up and what it contains.
Next month will have a Valentine’s theme…. keep watching the blog and social media on Facebook and Instagram. Follow us to keep up to date with all our news. I hope to have each kit available at the start of the month, but don’t forget they are available in limited numbers only.
It’s great to be back chatting with you again, I’ll write again soon,
Best wishes, Caroline
PS. I’ve “had my colours done” with Tracey Moys of House of Colour. I now know what colours and styles suit me best and I’m loving it! There will be a few changes to our GY colour schemes over the next few months to reflect this positive experience, see if you can spot them! Contact Tracey and House of Colour if you want to know more and have this experience yourself.
