And the winners of the Opal sock yarn Advent Calendar competition are……(drum roll…..)
Cheryl Thomas, tattySquawk and gezbutterworth. Congratulations folks! I will be contacting you later to get your details and get the calendars to you. Please do post pictures of what you make on the Gorgeous Yarns facebook page or the Pinterest and Instagram boards. I will be too! I think I might make really wacky socks with mine, all mis-matched, with one yarn for the top, one yarn for heels and toes, and another for the foot. Every sock will be different, no sock matching stress for me!! I did think about making sock bunting or mitten bunting, and the winners will get patterns for these. Looking forward to opening the little doors and seeing the yarn behind. Watch Instagram for my daily yarn fix right up until Christmas!! OOOH, exciting!
How are your Christmas plans coming along? Scarves, hats, gloves, shawls and cowls…are you busy with last minute makes? If you are looking for inspiration, just browse around the site, we have Gorgeous Yarns, (as our name suggests!) and lovely patterns that take only one or 2 skeins of yarn and are quick and easy to do.
My newsletter next weekend, and blog next week will both have ideas for Christmas gifts for the creatives in your life. Gorgeous Yarns are also offering FREE gift wrapping for all parcels in December, and 10% off John Arbon Sock yarn if all this talk about socks recently has given you an idea for a last minute make. If you buy any sock yarn, let me know in the checkout comments box if you would like a free top down sock pattern. Don’t forget we also stock DPNs and circular cable needles for socks, and sock blockers for a really professional finish.
Happy knitting and crochet, keep warm and cosy in this weather,
bye for now,
