Gorgeous Yarns combines luxury yarns with gentle natural dyes to produce a collection of beautiful, sustainable, colours.
Some of the plant dyes are grown organically in my Cornish garden, and I harvest and dry them ready to use to hand dye luxury fibres like Alpaca, Silk, Merino and BFL.
Our yarns are ethically sourced and where possible, organic.
It can be difficult to know where to start if you want to learn to naturally dye your own yarn. We offer a selection of natural solar dye kits which are a lovely way to try natural dyeing. All the kits contain everything you need to dye the enclosed skein of yarn. Perhaps you’d prefer a more directed way of learning, I can teach you how to dye a range of beautiful colours from plants onto yarn and fabrics. Lets chat….. gorgeousyarns
We stock some undyed and naturally dyed yarns too. If you want to have a quantity for a larger project, please contact me about a custom dye.
The only other yarns we stock are from Frangipani Guernsey 5ply which have been carefully chosen for their quality and provenance. They are 100% British.
