Beautiful, natural, sustainable yarns and dyesVisit the Shop

Hello and Welcome to Gorgeous Yarns, home of naturally dyed yarns and more!

Gorgeous Yarns;

sustainable, natural, beautiful.

Gorgeous Yarns combines luxury wool and yarns with gentle natural dye colours to produce a collection of beautiful, sustainable, colours. The plant dyes are grown organically in my Cornish garden, and I harvest and dry them ready to use to hand dye luxury fibres like Alpaca, Silk, Merino and bamboo. Our wool and yarns are ethically sourced and where possible, organic.

Natural Dye kits and workshops

It can be difficult to know where to start if you want to learn to naturally dye your own yarn. We offer a selection of natural dye kits, in person and zoom workshops to get  you off to a great start! All the kits contain everything you need to dye the enclosed skein of yarn, and of course the contents are all natural, sustainable and safe. Perhaps you’d prefer a more directed way of learning, I can teach you how to dye a range of beautiful colours from plants onto yarn and fabrics. Lets chat….. gorgeousyarns@gmail.com

Our yarns are hand dyed without harsh chemicals using the colour from plants, and are suitable for most knitting, crochet and weaving projects. The palette of colours and tones from natural dyes are beautiful and gentle, with subtle variations meaning your project will be unique and very special. I can also custom dye larger amounts for you if you have a specific project in mind. Please get in touch.

The only other yarns we stock from Frangipani Guernsey 5ply  have been carefully chosen for their quality and provenance. They are 100% British.

It is so satisfying to make something for yourself or to give as a gift and to be able to say “I made this”. With Gorgeous Yarns, you have the pleasure of the beautiful naturally dyed colours, the sustainable luxury yarn, the joy of the creative process and the delight of the finished project. What will you make?

Our passion, your inspiration, Gorgeous Yarns.
